Haaland Breaks Premier League Record vs Ipswich

Erling Haaland continues to break records in the Premier League, this time during Manchester City’s match against Ipswich. In a wild start to the game, Haaland scored twice, helping City to a 3-1 lead within the first 16 minutes. Ipswich had initially surprised everyone by scoring in the seventh minute, but Manchester City quickly turned the game around with three goals—two from Haaland and one from Kevin De Bruyne.

Haaland’s goals extended a special record he set in February 2024 when he became the first player to score against every team he had faced in the Premier League. Back then, his goal against Brentford completed the set, meaning he had scored against all 22 teams he’d played against in the league.

Some teams have suffered more than others from Haaland’s goal-scoring prowess. Wolves, for example, have conceded eight goals to him, more than any other team. Manchester United has also struggled, with Haaland scoring six times against them.

Before this match, Ipswich was the only Premier League team that Haaland hadn’t scored against, as they had just been promoted. Ipswich’s manager, Kieran McKenna, knew stopping Haaland would be a big challenge. He praised Haaland’s unique combination of strength, speed, and power, saying there’s no one quite like him in world football. Despite their efforts to prepare, Ipswich couldn’t stop Haaland from adding them to his list of conquered teams.

Haaland seems to have a special connection with August, as he had already scored 13 goals in just nine Premier League matches played in that month. At just 24 years old, Haaland keeps proving why he’s one of the most prolific strikers in the league.
